FSAE Braking System Analysis
In this project, I performed a comprehensive analysis of the braking system for a Formula SAE (FSAE) racecar, focusing on optimizing brake performance and safety. I calculated both the optimum and actual braking curves, ensuring the vehicle's braking system was tuned for maximum efficiency.
To achieve this, I applied a proportioning valve to the system, which allowed precise adjustment of the braking force distribution between the front and rear brakes. By ensuring the actual braking curve remained below the optimum curve, I guaranteed that the front brakes would lock up before the rear brakes during braking events, a critical safety measure to maintain vehicle stability.
This project highlights my expertise in brake system analysis, optimization, and safety engineering, ensuring reliable and effective braking performance under race conditions.
